The Titanium Apps are built around three key components:
- The first is the use of future-proof and open-standard media transport and control, with SMPTE 2110, IPMX and NMOS support. This means the apps provide a consistent and interoperable approach to transport Pro AV over IP networks.
- The second is the use of ISO-standard JPEG XS compression, which has been engineered to replace uncompressed video. This compression delivers microsecond latency and maintains pristine quality, while reducing bandwidth requirements, simplifying network connectivity, and allowing for scalable IP infrastructure for all resolutions.
- The third is the fully software-based nature of the apps. They do not require specialized hardware, offering much-needed simplicity to SMPTE 2110 media workflows and bringing broadcast-grade technology to Commercial-Of-The-Shelf (COTS) equipment.
